Cloud Storage

Cloud Storage allows computer files to be made accessible from devices with an Internet connection. OmegaForms can make files accessible via links, or by directly hosting the actual files. It is the client’s responsibility to request and assign the type of cloud storage that will be used for accessing and storing files. The following types of cloud storage are provided as examples; Omega Forms can use any of the following methods, including logical variations.

Simple Standard Hyperlink: Your files are not uploaded to OmegaForms. Links that reference your files are stored in OmegaForms. The access to the files themselves is not managed by OmegaForms.

Public Internet File: Your files are uploaded, as is, and stored on OmegaForms’ servers. Access is not restricted, anyone may access the files from a link generated by OmegaForms. These files can be accessed, by anyone with the link, as any other publicly available file on the Internet.

Private Intranet Embedded: Your files are uploaded, as it, and stored on OmegaForms’ servers. Access is restricted to users given permission to a form where the file is embedded. These files can then be opened online or downloaded to edit content.

Private Intranet Cloud: Your files are uploaded, as is, and stored on OmegaForms’ servers. Access is restricted to users given access to the form or assigned direct access to the file itself. These files can be opened online or edited online: the content being edited remains on OmegaForms’ servers.

Encrypted Server Side: Your files are uploaded to RAM, as it, and then encrypted before being stored on OmegaForms’ HDDs. Access is restricted to users given access to the form where the file is embedded. These files are retrieved by unencrypting the file in RAM, and then downloaded to the client’s computer.

Encrypted Client Side: Your files are encrypted on your computer before being uploaded and stored on OmegaForms’ servers. Access is restricted to users granted access to a form where the file is embedded. These files are retrieved by downloading the encrypted file to the client’s computer and then decrypting the file.

Virtualized Client Computer: Files uploaded to OmegaForms are accessed (or created) from applications that are accessed over the Internet. Applications can be entire operating systems or just from software that would be installed to an operating system. In cases where the client wishes to use a proprietary operating system or proprietary software, licenses will need to be purchased by the client for possession and use by OmegaForms.

Client Controlled Content: Links to files located on your computer and accessible by your computer account are referenced in OmegaForms. Other users in OmegaForms, who have been granted access to a form with the link to your file, can access the files. These files may be transferred via OmegaForms’ servers.
